💐 Colleagues gathered to say farewell to Gaynor Armstrong, Director of Midwifery as she sets off to become Regional Chief Midwife for the Midlands. Gaynor started at UHCW in 2018, her enthusiasm and drive in promoting Maternity care and supporting women's choices has helped to shape our maternity service into what it is today. Gaynor said: "I have treasured my time at UHCW, I've been through such a journey over the past six years. "In all of the organisations I've worked in, I have never known a more committed team, the teamwork at UHCW is second to none. "Moving into this new role gives me the opportunity to work to improve outcomes for even more women, which is my passion." We'd like to wish Gaynor all the best in her new role and thank her for her incredible service over the last six years ❤️

❤Today is World Heart Day and we're celebrating the incredible contributions of our cardiology colleagues! Back in August, our Cardiology team broke new ground, and made UHCW the third centre in the UK to use Pulse Field Ablation (PFA) to treat atrial fibrillation (AF). AF is the most common heart rhythm disturbance, affecting around 1.4 million people in the UK. It is more common in older people but cam impact adults of any age. It can cause debilitating and life limiting symptoms such as palpitations, breathlessness and fatigue. PulseSelect uses a non-thermal approach to preferentially target the pulmonary veins for ablation, avoiding unwanted injury to surrounding structures such as the gullet and phrenic nerve. 🔗Read more about our Cardiology team's fantastic achievements here: https://lnkd.in/eJbiR5cu

🎉Happy World Pharmacists Day to all of the Pharmacists that make up Team UHCW! Our Pharmacists have played a key role in improvement work at the Trust, including partnering up with Omnicell to automate the dispensing of medicines to become more efficient and improve the patient experience. More recently, the team have installed two large dispensing robots, affectionately named Tom and Jerry, which can hold more than 50,000 packs of medication. 🔗Take a look at this article to find out more: https://lnkd.in/empcF4v6 A huge thank you and well done to our Pharmacists for their incredible work, day in, day out.💙
