My heart is overflowing with gratitude and inspiration after receiving the National Hispanic Media Coalition Impact Award on behalf of Minecraft Education for our LatinExplorers project. Antonio Tijerino, hermano, your visionary leadership in bringing Minecraft Education and the Hispanic Heritage Foundation together has been the spark that ignited this beautiful collaboration. You've shown us all, anything is possible! I'm truly humbled to stand alongside such remarkable honorees, Janet Murguía UnidosUS (@WeAreUnidosUS), and Representatives Crockett and Cardenas, your leadership gives us a powerful voice where it matters most. And Commissioner Anna Gomez – you've been my hero and an inspiration to so many of us. Your groundbreaking work reminds us all of the heights we can reach and the doors we can open for others. The team behind LatinExplorers – Crafters of Color, ReWrite Media, Inc, Justin Edwards, Allison Matthews, Ava Volandes, Sara Cornish, Barrett Livingston - thank you for helping young learners see themselves in Minecraft and creating spaces where our youth can see themselves as the leaders, innovators, and changemakers they are destined to be. Today, the National Hispanic Media Coalition Latino Representation in Gaming Coalition (LRGC) was announced at the National Press Club in Washington, DC. We were honored to attend the National Hispanic Media Coalition’s annual Impact Awards Gala, featuring star-studded presenters and honorees from "The Umbrella Academy," as guests of T-Mobile. Clint Odom of T-Mobile delivered a memorable speech that was enjoyed by all. NHMC is a woman-led non-profit civil and human rights organization that was founded to eliminate hate, discrimination, and racism toward the Latino communities.
