Strength Maintencance Training Battalion currently has two of the Battalion's largest courses in-house: the Senior Leader Course (SLC) and the Non-Career RRNCO (SQI4) Class 24-004. Both students and instructors are working hard both inside and outside the classroom. Keep up the good work—graduation is just around the corner.

Strength Maintenance Training Battalion has been attending professional development training with PEC Chaplain CPT David Woodward. The battalion recently completed the second part of their three-part training on "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People."

Today the PEC Family proudly celebrates James Alba as he is promoted to the rank of 1st Sgt. and accepts his new role as the 1st Sgt. of PEC's Resource Management Training Battalion. Congratulations 1st Sgt. Alba!

The Recruit Sustainment Program (RSP) and Officer Strength Manager (OSM) Class 24-002 held their graduation ceremonies on Aug. 2, 2024. While this marks the end of their training courses, it also signifies the beginning of their journeys. Return to your states and make PEC proud!

On Aug. 1, 2024, Master Sgt. David Brooks, Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) NCOIC – National Guard Bureau, spoke with the Recruit Sustainment Program (RSP) Course at the Strength Maintenance Training Battalion. Master Sgt. Brooks asked students for feedback on upcoming H2F resources, including an app, that will be distributed to the states and territories in the near future.

Congratulations to Sgt. 1st Class Victor Marquez for earning his Basic Army Instructor Badge! To earn the Basic Army Instructor Badge, a soldier must meet the instructor requirements outlined in Army Regulation 614–200, complete the requirements of TRADOC Regulation 600–21, complete 80 hours of instruction as a primary instructor, and meet evaluation requirements after two separate evaluations 30 days apart. Marquez is the ordnance section NCOIC of the Sustainment Installation and Environmental Battalion. He oversees the delivery of instruction for all maintenance courses within the battalion. Marquez also instructs the Surface Maintenance Inspector Course as well as the Army Maintenance Readiness System Course.

Learn from the best to be the best! Yesterday, as part of the Sergeants Major Foundations Course, students were given an opportunity to attend a Q&A panel with ranking Sergeants Major from all across the Army.

Recently, the Battalion graduated two courses: Military Entrance Processing Station Guidance Counselor 24-002 and Unit Retention Noncomissioned Officer 24-004. Congratulations to the newest MEPS guidance counselors and unit retention noncomissioned officers for the Army National Guard!

Congratulations to the incoming commander of the Resource Management Training Center, Lt Col. Charlton Matthews, and the outgoing commander, Lt. Col. Arthur McLaurin!

Yesterday, Command Sgt. Maj. Brock Snow was awarded the Legion of Merit for his dedicated service as the Brigade Sgt. Maj. at PEC. As a thank you for is service, he was also awarded the Arkansas Traveler award and the PEC Eagle. Congratulations Sgt. Maj. Snow.
