NextGEN guides and supports high-growth, high-potential entrepreneurs and their businesses in Greenville and across the Upstate of South Carolina. Our primary goal is to help founders grow and support their businesses. NextGEN provides direct entrepreneur services and champions the development of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the region. As of 2021, NextGEN supports over 150 high-impact early-stage ventures across a variety of sectors including software, information technology, life sciences, advanced materials, consumer electronics, and more.

    We are so incredibly excited to announce that Heather Hudson, Founder of 9Round Kickboxing Fitness, is going to be kicking off Next Venture Summit as our morning keynote! Did you know that 9 Round, which is now in 18 countries🤯, was founded here in the Upstate and continues to have its headquarters in Simpsonville? Heather has an incredible story of humble beginnings to international success. She'll literally be setting the stage and the energy for our second day and we are pumped up (kicked up?!) to see her speak.

    I took a call with a student studying Entrepreneurship at Clemson University MBA Programs. Here was my final thought for him: Whether you become a founder, a commercial real estate broker or financial advisor, you must get really really good at SALES. Both the art and the science of sales. Most people think sales is for people not smart enough to be engineers, accountants, doctors or lawyers. Wrong. Sales is for entrepreneurs. Sales is for job creators. Sales is for visionaries. Sales is for managers. Sales is for delegators. Sales is for leaders. Sales is for anyone who wants to build something bigger than themselves. Sales is not just cold calling. Sales is not just knocking on doors. Sales is not just building lead lists. Sales is not just closing deals. Sales is a mindset that should influence every single interaction. Not snake oil sales. Sales is about relationships. Sales is about helping other people. Sales is about providing value without expecting anything in return. Sales is about consistency. So, if you're trying to figure out where to start... figure out how to sell.
