Accessible fun is coming to Long Island! The Village of Port Washington North received $1 million in state funding to build a new accessible playground for children with disabilities and autism. Thank you to Newsday Media Group reporter for sharing the perspective of Able News Editor Emily Ladau, who is a wheelchair user, on why movement toward accessible playgrounds is so vital.

Summer tourist season on Long Island hits midpoint — and it's looking good! 🌞 #DiscoverLongIsland "Summer is critical because it’s what Long Island represents to tourists: our beaches, our parks, and our outdoor theaters and events," Kristen Reynolds, CDME said. "Summer’s also critical because that’s when the rates are the highest for our hotels due to high demand. Overnight visitors, particularly international visitors, are the most valuable to us. For every $100 they spend on a hotel room, they spend approximately $221 at restaurants, stores, and attractions in the local community," she said." Thank you, Newsday Media Group! Here's to another record breaking year for our local businesses! 🙌 #DiscoverLongIsland #TourismMatters #Tourism #DestinationMarketing #DestinationMarketingOrganization #LongIsland https://lnkd.in/eQUqgBxn

Loved working with you Cara S. Trager. Great piece for Newsday Media Group profiling Tote Taxi founder Danielle Candela.
Shlepping stuff to the Hamptons? That was this entrepreneur's motivation for launching Tote Taxi. Plus, it has allowed her to live and work there. My latest in Newsday's Business section:

Great story from Newsday Media Group about Suffolk County Department of Health Services beach testing program. Every year during the summer we test 190 beaches regularly to ensure they are safe for bathers. #summer #cleanwater
