These 52-hour internships spanned diverse professions, including healthcare, engineering, journalism, nonprofits, sports, small businesses, architecture, and law. We were delighted to see #NHSD's Lower Elementary School Principal, Dr. Jennifer Bloom, honored with the opportunity to deliver the commencement address at her graduation ceremony from Delaware Valley University. In her inspiring speech, Dr. Bloom urged fellow graduates to embrace the concept of "failing forward" stating: "Failure is an inevitable part of the human experience. You will stumble, falter, and make mistakes along the way. You will let yourself and others down. But that does not have to be the end of the story. Failure is often where the story begins." Dr. Bloom's words remind us that setbacks are not the end but rather a stepping stone to growth and success. Congratulations, Dr. Bloom!

Congratulations to #NHSD science faculty member Leo Macdonald, who has been accepted to the Science and Engineering Program for teachers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Participants are selected for demonstrating innovation, creativity, and dedication in their schools and communities. Those selected will hear lectures from world-leading scientists, try out the latest technology on MIT's campus, and get the chance to network with a like minded group of innovative educators for the week.

Our seventh graders recently participated in a Career Showcase, rotating between guest presenters who volunteered to share their career experiences, including job responsibilities, education required, and what a typical day looks like within their professions. The Career Showcase exposes students to potential opportunities that they may consider in the future and is part of our district’s College and Career Portfolio. #nhsdfutureready
