According to a new report from International Energy Agency (IEA), global electricity demand is projected to grow at 4% in 2024 and 2025, its fastest rate since 2007. This surge is attributed to robust economic growth, intense heat waves, and increasing electrification across the globe as well as new AI demand and data centers coming online. As manufacturers work to expand domestic production capacity to meet that demand, modern processes and policies will be critical. From EV motors to batteries and lighting to electrical connectors that enable circuits to carry power across residential, commercial, and industrial buildings, the technologies accelerating an all-electric future require a reliable domestic supply of critical minerals. Learn more about how NEMA is leading the conversation on energy systems of the future. https://lnkd.in/eS4prEKY

🔌 According to the Pew Research Center, there are 61,000 EV charging stations in the United States today. By 2030, the Biden Administration has set a goal of 500,000 charging stations across the country. How do we close such a large gap? NEMA members have already invested $12 billion in dozens of manufacturing facilities around the country to foster and strengthen #domesticmanufacturing and #supplychain capabilities for EV charging equipment. In Industry Today Media, NEMA's Steve Griffith, PMP looks at what else is needed to electrify our nation's infrastructure and accelerate the energy transition: https://lnkd.in/eTh-FR9X
