    At NMG, sustainability is not just a priority––it’s an integral part of our journey to Revolutionize Impact. This week, Ali Mize, Senior Director of ESG, Belonging, & Corporate Philanthropy, discussed our focus on advancing sustainable products and services at NYC Climate Week 2024. At ‘Spilling the Tea on Sustainability,’ a private breakfast hosted by Trane Technologies at Bergdorf Goodman’s BG Restaurant, Ali joined influential women leaders from Marriott International, PepsiCo, and non-profit Women and Climate, to discuss the transformative power of female leadership in environmental action. Later, at the ‘Conscious is the New Cool’ panel discussion at Neuehouse Madison Square, she engaged with thought leaders from the Business of Fashion, Humane Society of the U.S., and more to explore the how cultural shifts and next-gen materials can help reduce fashion’s carbon footprint. We also engaged with key brand partners and climate organizations to address opportunities and challenges in the fashion industry. Highlights include Chanel’s sustainability goals, Kiehl’s supply chain initiatives, and our RE100 membership promoting renewable energy. Through partnerships with Global Fashion Agenda, The Climate Group, and others, we’re advancing circular economy solutions and sustainable fashion education, reinforcing our commitment to driving industry-wide climate action.

    Neiman Marcus recently partnered with Sotheby's to celebrate the relaunch of their magazine under new Editor-in-Chief and Head of Sotheby’s Media, Kristina O’Neill. In a joint celebration of the 30th anniversary of Neiman Marcus’ Art of Fashion, the evening brought together a remarkable group of artists, designers, and cultural leaders, all sharing a passion for creativity and craftsmanship. The Art of Fashion is Neiman Marcus’ annual portfolio, celebrating cinematic storytelling and one-of-a-kind fashions. The acclaimed photographer Tyler Mitchell was commissioned to capture this milestone anniversary. It was a night dedicated to the legacies of both Neiman Marcus and Sotheby’s –– two institutions that continue to champion excellence in artistry.

    Remembering Mary McFadden, the renowned designer, collector, and world traveler, who passed away at 85 last week. Celebrated as a true renaissance woman, she was honored with the Neiman Marcus Award for Distinguished Service in the Field of Fashion in 1979 by Stanley Marcus. Her illustrious career also included serving as a Vogue editor and becoming the first female president of the CFDA. Her legacy will continue to inspire future generations in fashion with innovation, creativity, and a pioneering spirit.

    In celebration of New York Fashion Week, Bergdorf Goodman partnered with celebrated street style photographer, Tommy Ton, to highlight the new guard of designers defining the look of the city in a campaign titled, “New York Style.” The imagery features NYC-based designers Christopher John Rogers, Henry Zankov of Zankov, Maxwell Osborne of AnOnlyChild, Peter Do, and Rachel Scott of Diotima, paired with a few familiar faces as muses—BG’s own Darcy Penick, Linda Fargo, Yumi Shin, and more. You’re invited to explore “New York Style” on Bergdorf Goodman’s website or at the iconic retailer’s 5th Avenue windows, which feature an installation and a QR code for passersby to shop the collection.

    Our Neiman Marcus Group leadership teams had a busy New York Fashion Week. From market appointments to runway shows, they hit the pavement to meet with brand partners, review collections, and define the look of the season.     In addition, our leaders were proud to attend Kering’s Caring for Women Gala, organized by the Kering Foundation. The Foundation and the Gala provide funds to organizations that support those impacted by gender-based violence, working to break cycles of violence by raising awareness, changing mindsets, and creating safe spaces. Leaders also attended the annual Couture Council Luncheon hosted by The Museum at FIT, honoring 2024 Neiman Marcus Award for Innovation-winner, Simon Porte Jacquemus.     Our leadership teams consistently highlight our ongoing commitment to Revolutionizing Luxury Experiences and championing positive change for the fashion industry and beyond.
