On September 6th, the 2024 Edward M. Gramlich Fellows in Community and Economic Development presented their groundbreaking research. These future leaders, like Aaron and Jein, are already making a difference in NeighborWorks and it's network. Aaron's research on manufactured and modular housing is helping NeighborWorks organizations find innovative solutions to affordable housing challenges. Jein's focus on local economic development is strengthening the capacity of nonprofits to serve their communities. NeighborWorks has a long commitment to building our sector, and this partnership with Harvard Joint Center for Housing Studies (JCHS) is one way in which we’re developing the next generation of leaders. We had a wonderful time showing the NeighborWorks America Community Initiatives Advisory Committee & Rural Advisory Council around Historic Eastside. We made stops at The Corner at Debs Store and met with Rodney Hurst, Civil Rights leader, and Dr. Rudy Jamison Jr., community activist. Our partner, NeighborWorks, creates opportunities for people to live in affordable homes, improve their lives and strengthen their communities. #WealthWatchers #BuildingWealthForFutureGenerations

This past week, NeighborWorks America had the honor of hosting its second Native Partnership Gathering on the beautiful land of the Wabanaki people in Maine. On Monday, September 9th, we visited Indian Island, home to the Penobscot Nation. We were warmly welcomed with a traditional meal and had the opportunity to learn about the incredible work being done in economic development, including innovative housing and community projects. A standout highlight was their commitment to green building practices and the revitalization of their community. A huge thank you to our co-hosts, Native CDFI Network, Inc. and Four Directions Development Corporation, for their collaboration and support. Your dedication is making a significant impact! #penobscot #wabanaki #indianisland #chefjoerobbins #nativepartnerships #NeighborWorksAmerica #neighborworks #Maine
