In line with our commitment towards climate action, the #OneYouthOnePlant campaign formally kicked off on Friday, marking National Tree Plantation Day 2024. Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Indira Rana Magar, launched the campaign by planting saplings in Bidur Municipality, Nuwakot. Under this initiative, a total of 7,700 saplings are being planted nationwide in all 77 districts of the 7 provinces, involving 7,700 youths. This effort contributes to green our #climateaction efforts and will run until July 5. This effort is in collaboration with the Nepal Youth Council, Ncell, and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations. 5th NPC Nepal Wheelchair Race Championship was organised last week in joint collaboration with the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) Nepal and Ncell to honour the enthusiasm and dedication of all para-athletes preparing for various national and international games, including the Paris Paralympics 2024. Over 150 proud para-athletes participated in the event, expressing their overwhelming joy and excitement to be part of this event. Marking the World Environment Day 2024, we on Wednesday pledged to plant 7,700 trees in all 77 districts of 7 Provinces under #OneYouthOneTree Campaign in collaboration with Nepal Youth Council (NYC). Under this social initiative, we will do a nationwide mass tree plantation on June 28, marking National Plantation Day at once in all 77 districts. A total of 100 youths from each district from all 77 districts will lead this initiative to plant 100 trees in their areas, totaling 7,700 trees across 7 Provinces. This campaign will be conducted in partnership with provincial and local governments. To ensure the sustainability of this initiative, participating youths from each district will take responsibility for the overall maintenance and care of the plants.
