The NC Chamber team visited Novartis in Durham last week, where attendees learned about Zolgensma, a groundbreaking gene replacement therapy for spinal muscular atrophy made right here in North Carolina. A special moment of the tour was a wall in the warehouse featuring locations that have received the drug, each hand symbolizing a life-changing order. Our tour attendees were honored to hang eight hands in recognition of this incredible work. Stay tuned for a full #NCMFGTour profile on Novartis’ impact in North Carolina!

Joining her were industry leaders Emily M. Dickens (Chief of Staff & Head of Government Affairs at SHRM), Sasha Nicholas (Associate Manager, Early Childhood Education at U.S. Chamber of Commerce), and Erica Palmer Smith (Executive Director of NC Child). Together, they led a meaningful discussion on the challenges working families face and how we can address them. #ChildCare4NC
