The NC Chamber team visited Novartis in Durham last week, where attendees learned about Zolgensma, a groundbreaking gene replacement therapy for spinal muscular atrophy made right here in North Carolina. A special moment of the tour was a wall in the warehouse featuring locations that have received the drug, each hand symbolizing a life-changing order. American Express and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation have launched a Small Business Hurricane Recovery Grant Program offering $5,000 grants to assist small businesses with physical damage or economic loss from Hurricane Helene or Hurricane Milton.
