NC Clean Energy Fund is delighted to welcome Adrienne Quick-Wright MBA, PMP to the team as our new Chief Operating Officer.    Adrienne brings 14 years of operations management experience to the NCCEF team along with her strong leadership and excellent interpersonal skills. She is deeply committed to supporting work that prioritizes equity and a sustainable future for all. As our COO, she will actively develop processes to ensure continuous improvement in NCCEF’s internal operations in order to maximize our effectiveness in delivering financing for clean energy initiatives.   Adrienne, we are thrilled to have you on board with us!

As summer temperatures rise and heat waves wash over the country, updated policies and creative solutions are needed more than ever. Last week Co-Director Jennifer Weiss joined industry experts Jacqueline Higgins (Swiss Re), Brock Long (Hagerty Consulting), Scott Tew (Trane Technologies), and Pamela Williams (FEMA) at the HeatWise Partnership Summit hosted by the Nicholas Institute for Energy, Environment & Sustainability to discuss how our communities can utilize blended finance and insurance solutions to increase our heat resilience. This summit was only the beginning, and NCCEF looks forward to continuing the exploration of creative financing solutions to benefit communities most affected by #extremeheat. It was terrific  to be part of electrifying Asheville Buncombe at the ElectriFair event last week, sponsored by Let's Go Electric.   We were so encouraged by the wonderful turnout of folks who are interested in taking the next steps on their electrification journey. We were there to share information about the financing package that we are able to offer through a unique partnership with Self-Help Credit Union and Buncombe County Government that enable us to provide accessible and trustworthy loans for electrification projects. Student Appreciation Week – Day 4! Today we highlight the work of another fantastic UNC Sustainable Business Club Impact Team. UNC undergraduates Maria Clara Reis, Kathryn Beranek, Sreya Vannappagari, and Collins Porter worked over the semester to put together a thoughtful analysis of ways that NCCEF can broaden our reach and engage with new consumers by developing a social media campaign that promotes brand awareness and values. Thank you, team, for the great recommendations - we promise to put them into action soon!

Student Appreciation Week – Day 3! Today we highlight the work done by Duke University’s ENV 245 Sustainability Team. The team put together an amazing toolkit that can be used by nonprofits considering investments in sustainability or clean energy. The toolkit will be available on our website later this summer.
