Navillus is soon to start the new construction of another school building for the NYC School Construction Authority (SCA). PS 116Q located in Jamaica, Queens will consist of a new 4-story building in addition to its existing 5-story building which is estimated to increase the student capacity by approximately 50%. The existing building will also receive various upgrades including the improvement of its electrical systems and other items. At Polo Grounds Towers, Navillus has been working for over a year as a Design-Builder for the construction and design of a Pneumatic Waste Collection System for the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA). The new automated system will facilitate trash removal from each of the four residential buildings and reduce carbon footprint using a powerful vacuum to extract the trash and recyclables through underground pipes to a terminal building. Navillus is proud to be working with AECOM Tishman as a subcontractor on the JFK New Terminal One project. Scheduled to start in March 2024, Navillus will perform the work on the new terminal’s exterior carpentry, headhouse roof, skylights, new air train tunnels, 3-story entrance vestibules, and approximately 140 square feet of exterior ceilings.
