We're so thrilled to say that we partnered up with Kristy Drutman aka Browngirl Green, a speaker, consultant, media producer, and #environmental educator, to give her an immersive solar farm tour in Guilderland, New York. This #solar farm is a unique land use situation because it's built on a previous Department of Defense landfill. Watch the full tour below. Big thanks to Christopher Lee & Steve Dzubak for leading the tour.

Tackling climate change through exploration with The Green Journey | Future Climate Leader @Aspen Institute | Ex-McKinsey
THE GREEN JOURNEY ACROSS AMERICA ☀️ We are riding solar bikes across the USA to advocate for clean energy! This summer, we are riding our prototype solar-powered bikes across the entire country, hosting community events and promoting clean energy projects along the way. We are fundraising on behalf of GRID Alternatives with Climate Ride to promote clean energy advocacy 👉 please consider donating here: https://lnkd.in/dhbMZD4g We’re also taking you on the road with us on our daily podcast “The Green Journey across America” 👉 you can find it on all platforms. If you live in one of the 10 cities we’ll cross, or along our route, please reach out. We’d love to organize something together! It could be a community bike ride, educational event, meet & greet… we’re hoping to meet as many people in the “real” world as possible this summer! Lastly, HUGE THANK YOU to our incredible sponsors. You are bringing this expedition to life 🙏 Nautilus Solar Energy, LLC | Patagonia | Generation180 | GoPro | Tailfin | Sena Cycling | Oveja Negra May the sun be on your side! ☀️ Megan Claire Routbort | The Green Journey

Meet Rahman Ahad aka "Manny", our QAQC Specialist. 👋 We're highlighting Manny this month as part of our #employee spotlight series. He is part of the #construction team where he ensures that our solar farms are built safely and are up to the established quality standards. With over 9 years of industry experience, Manny has enjoyed his time spent educating homeowners on the benefits of solar energy. Along with that, he also helped nearly a thousand families gain their #energyindependence with battery coupled solar systems in the Caribbean. When he's not working, Manny loves: - Traveling (especially to the beach) - Spending time with family and friends regularly - Getting his hands wet in the kitchen. Homemade pizza is a personal favorite. Born in New York City and raised north of Boston, he's a Yankees fan as well as a Patriots fan - which was never fully understood by others. 🤣 We're happy to have Manny on our team and really appreciate all the insight and hard work he brings to the table.

Our very own Eric LaMora spoke with Wboc-Tv Channel 16 about Nautilus Community Solar’s presence in Delmarva, Maryland! He gave a run-through of how #communitysolar works & discussed our newest local farm in the area. We’re thankful to be able to educate viewers on the benefits of community solar and to serve the people of #Maryland.

Good news! Our #communitysolar farm in Vernon, New York is officially energized. This means that over 680 local subscribers will be benefitting from the #cleanenergy produced at this farm. They will receive discounts on their annual energy bills, and they will be contributing to lowering their community's carbon footprint.

Community solar farms can grow more than electricity. #Agrivoltaics places crops or livestock underneath and between rows of solar panels. We are proud to say that we have been testing agrivoltaics with #sheep grazing at a few of our Colorado #solar farms and it's been going great! This process allows for efficient land use, as the land supports both energy production and crop cultivation or livestock grazing simultaneously. Sheep grazing is an effective and #eco-friendly way to manage vegetation around solar panels. The sheep keep the grass trimmed, reducing the need for mechanical mowing and chemical herbicides, which helps maintain the efficiency of the solar panels. Additionally, the shade provided by the panels can create a cooler microclimate that can benefit certain crops and improve soil moisture retention. Photo credit: Brown Land & Livestock, LLC
