NCI Director Dr. Kimryn Rathmell this afternoon joined Senator Jerry Moran on a visit to The University of Kansas Cancer Center (KUCC). She met with leaders of the KUCC and The University of Kansas Health System as well as with scientists, trainees, and community members. Dr. Rathmell toured KUCC’s early-phase clinical trials unit and its cellular therapeutics program. She learned how NCI is helping to expand the reach of cancer research to rural areas through the Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP).
