NCOA is thrilled to announce that we’re continuing our work with Walmart Foundation to enroll 20,000 eligible #OlderAdults into SNAP benefits over the next two years. Even years after the pandemic, #FoodInsecurity remains high, and many older adults who are eligible for SNAP don’t apply— further contributing to #HealthDisparities. Our partnership seeks to ensure that no older adult has to choose between eating nutritious food and paying the bills. 🍴🍎 Read the full press release:👇 https://lnkd.in/eiF6AB_d

Helping improve the lives of 40 million older adults by 2030.
About us
Since 1950, we’ve walked beside generations of Americans. We were the first national voice for older adults. We helped end mandatory retirement. We advocated to secure Medicare, Medicaid, and the Older Americans Act. Local organizations turned to us for support as they served older adults every day. At NCOA, we deliver the resources, digital tools, best practices, and advocacy our nation needs to ensure that every person can age with health and financial security. Because aging well for all is a matter of equity. A matter of dignity. And a matter of justice.

Achieving hashtag #FinancialSecurity in hashtag #Retirement can be difficult for many hashtag #Women. When USA TODAY's Daniel de Visé wanted to know why, he asked NCOA’s President and CEO Ramsey Alwin. “Women disproportionally are carrying the burden and the financial realities of caregiving,” Alwin explained. “You add to that longer lives, and a Social Security system that wasn’t really designed for women.” Still, there are ways women can “hedge their bets” against running out of money later in life. These include delaying hashtag #SocialSecurity benefits, setting up income-generating hashtag #Annuities, and more. Get the full story here.👇 https://lnkd.in/ePnJc6r7
