✨ NEW PARTNERSHIP ALERT 🌟 We are excited to work together with Mind Blossom to co-create spaces and opportunities for our community to heal, grow, and thrive. ❤️ Mind Blossom is on a mission to empower people’s mental wellbeing through mental health education and community engagement. Mind Blossom’s overarching cause is to help develop and implement free of cost mental health education programs in underserved communities. 🤝 Together, we are working towards building healthy and meaningful lives for those struggling, those in recovery, family members, and loved ones, while continuing our efforts to equip teachers, community center staff, nurses, athletic coaches, and other professionals with the skills to identify early warning signs and provide support. 🧠 Our collaborative focus goes beyond eating disorders. More often than not, people will experience several co-occurring types of #mentalillness. Our partnership represents a step towards building awareness of this complexity, which so often stalls awareness, treatment and recovery for many. We are excited to venture together on this shared mission! #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealtheducation #mentalhealthliteracy #psycheducation #eatingdisorderawareness #comorbid #mentalillnessawareness #recoveryispossible #togetherwearestronger #community #yourlifematters #makingadifference

Athletes are at a higher risk of mental health illnesses, including eating disorders. Unfortunately, a lot of athletes never receive the help and support they deserve. Ahead of the Paris Summer Games, we’ve invited athlete and psychotherapist Kate Ringwood to explore the relationship between eating disorders and athletes, including the common characteristics and traits that are seen in both athletes and those battling an eating disorder. Check out her full post now at anad.org/blog and make sure to listen to her recent interview on the Lane9 podcast! ANAD and our friends at Monte Nido are committed to raising awareness and helping people receive the support and care they deserve. Detecting an eating disorder can be a layered and sensitive topic but Monte Nido seeks to shine a light in the darkness and end the hiding of eating disorders. In a special post to the ANAD blog, they share several common warning signs and discuss stereotypes that often serve as barriers to speaking up. Today we recognize the white stripe of the disability pride flag with Joce’s experience in battling an invisible disability. Joce shares, “I didn’t understand why or how having a mental health diagnosis would make it harder for me to seek care for an undiagnosed invisible disability – until it happened to me.” In a powerful and insightful JourneyED post, Joce details the journey to being diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) and Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and explains how important it is for everyone to continue to advocate for themselves. Read Joce's Story: anad.org/stories [ID: Joce smiling at camera with white bold text: I want to let anyone who is dealing with an invisible illness, an undiagnosed chronic illness, or medical gaslighting know that you are valid, you are seen, and you are worth care, treatment, and respect.] #InvisibleDisabilities #POTS #EhlersDanlos #EatingDisorderRecovery
