October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Your mental health matters. Breast cancer is a physical diagnosis and can affect an individual’s mental health throughout the disease. Many who are diagnosed with breast cancer do not have a known family history of breast cancer, other cancers, or risk factors. As a result, this diagnosis can come as a devastating surprise. The emotional turmoil that results can affect women’s physical health as well as her psychological well-being. For more information about breast cancer, go to cancer.gov/types/breast or call 1-800-422-6237 to speak to information specialists at the National Cancer Institute in English and in Spanish. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program also offers breast cancer screenings or diagnostic services to low-income individuals who are uninsured or otherwise qualify for the program — go to https://lnkd.in/ecAXCq8b to learn more. Where there’s smoke... there could be signs of burnout. NAMI Philadelphia expresses its appreciation to Kristen Merker and TMAP for the chance to address Burnout in the Workplace. Amy Federer, Director of Operations, and Schimen Scott, Education and Training Manager, thoroughly enjoyed interacting with participants about burnout and mental health self-care strategies, both at work and beyond. Key highlights included the Lunch and Learn session and the Wellness Wall. The event was well-attended and executed perfectly. Kudos to you and your team, Kristen! It was an honor to introduce a session on a topic that impacts so many of us—Burnout in the Workplace — at TMAP this year! A special thank you to NAMI Philly and the incredible speaker, Schimen Scott, for sharing valuable insights and providing a compassionate, expert perspective. Your words not only resonated with the audience but also sparked important conversations about mental health and well-being. This experience reminded me of the importance of recognizing the signs of burnout and fostering a workplace environment that prioritizes mental health. Here’s to continuing the conversation and advocating for healthier work environments! 💡✨ #MentalHealthMatters #WorkplaceWellbeing #BurnoutAwareness #INTA #Gratitude #TMAP2024
