What Happened - On Friday, 7/19/2024, a routine software update from CrowdStrike led to widespread disruptions across various sectors, including airports, banks, and retail. A defect in the update for Windows operating systems caused one of the largest IT outages in history. While it wasn't a cyberattack, the flawed update resulted in major service interruptions worldwide.
