“MycoWorks was founded by artists. And we've learned from the sculpture practice of [co-founder] Phil Ross and the ancient crafts of leather and textiles to create something completely new and innovative with Reishi™ that offers new possibilities for designers.” CEO Matt Scullin joins leaders at Balenciaga, Kartell Museum, and Triennale Milano to speak about MycoWorks' artistic heritage and study of the past to innovate the future of materials. “MycoWorks collaborates with designers, artists, and the best brands of the world like Hermes, and well, the material itself, Reishi, that we make, is sustainable, it’s really a material that is rooted in design and artistic heritage. With our material, the design process starts in conceiving what new materials might be interesting for the finished good.” Last week I had the pleasure to be invited by Frédéric ROSSI managing director of Business France and Olivia Gregoire, French Minister delegated for Entreprises, Tourism and Consumer Affairs to visit the Fashion Institute of Technology during her visit in New York. Fascinating visit of the FIT and understanding how sustainability is at the heart of the work of this new generation of designers. I had the pleasure to share how MycoWorks works hand in hand with the Fashion industry to change the way we do things surrounded by a new talented eco responsible designer like Guillaume Larquemain 🍏 and a representative of the French powerhouse Louis Vuitton. We promise to continue the conversation with Madame La Ministre. #madewithreishi #sustainablefashion #businessfrance #frenchgovernment #mycelium

A few snaps from our event "Reishi™ x Flesh" last night co-hosted with MycoWorks at our offices in Copenhagen. While the fashion world descends on Copenhagen for the Global Fashion Agenda, we invited in designers and executives alike to rethink and reimagine the future of materials, and why it's important to root this conversation in a deeper understanding of our relationship to our flesh and our bodies. Alongside a screening of our film A Second Skin, the evening featured a panel discussion with ReD's Charlotte Vangsgaard, creative director of MycoWorks Xavier Gallego and Director of Brand Strategy at adidas, Alexander F. Unger, as well as special guests tattoo artist Otto D'Ambra, cellist Line Felding, and Ginfish 68|70. A big thank you to Pauli CPH for providing a beautiful, seasonal selection of canapés and drinks, to the team at MycoWorks – Ginevra Boralevi, Isabelle N. and Mattie Naythons – and to Veronica Beckmann and Nanna Sine Munnecke at ReD for helping bring the event to life. We look forward to continuing the conversation on our material future and building a long-term vision for the industry. #flesh #strategy #fashion
