Today, June 11th, the global education community celebrates the United Nations International Day of Play. We invite you to join MUZO in commemorating 'the influence of play' while also dedicating some time to contemplate the profound impact of play on learning and the future of play accessibility and provision. The implementation of a U.N. resolution dedicated to play establishes a unifying occasion on a global, national, and local scale. This aims to emphasize the significance of play in children's education and overall well-being. The resolution ensures that adequate time, suitable spaces, and necessary support are given priority to facilitate quality play. The resolution also acknowledges the importance of play in developing fundamental physical, social, cognitive, communication, and emotional skills that can be applied across different stages of life. It also highlights the beneficial effects of play in fostering tolerance, resilience, social inclusion, conflict prevention, and peacebuilding. An exciting start to the year at the amazing new Active Learning Space, Oakland CA! In collaboration with Joshua Niederman & One Workplace , MUZO are excited to be presenting at an event that promises to revolutionize student centered learning environments. Titled "Want to design better schools? Come and be a child for a day" The presentations are set to take place on both January 23rd and 24th, from 3 pm to 7 pm, at the new One Workplace, Active Learning Center located at 7220 Edgewater Dr, Oakland, CA 94621. This unique event is designed to bring architects, school districts, and school designers together to explore the latest innovations in school furniture and learning space design. Muzo's cutting-edge furniture, known for its blend of functionality and creativity, will be showcased in an interactive format, inviting attendees to experience the environment from a student's perspective. A Highlight of the workshops is an interactive learning seminar from our friend Danny Sewell, an Educator & professional musician with a heart for educational reform, and 'Juice Bot, the Bot that educates, communicates and humanises power.This dynamic duo will demonstrate the power of integrating technology and music in learning, using soundboard apps and interactive sessions to engage the audience. Danny, with his extensive experience working with underprivileged children, including orphanages in India, brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to the event. His approach to student centred learning emphasizes the importance of joy and inclusivity in learning environments, aligning perfectly with Muzo's vision of transforming educational spaces and putting smiles on faces!
