Did you know that Ms. JD has members all over the country? In 2024 alone, we've held or are planning to hold in-person events in Los Angeles, Chicago, and Boston. And of course, for everyone who doesn't want to travel, we make sure to host plenty of virtual events as well! We're proud to support women in law wherever they come from, and do our best to make our event accessible to as many people as possible. Comment below to let us know where you're from!

About us
Ms. JD is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to the success of women in law school and the legal profession. Ms. JD is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors comprised of law students and recent graduates and an Executive Director. Founded at Stanford Law School in 2006 by a group of female law students from Boalt Hall (UC Berkeley), Cornell, Georgetown, Harvard, NYU, Stanford, UCLA, UT Austin, the University of Chicago, the University of Michigan, the University of Virginia, and Yale, Ms. JD is a 501(c)(3) incorporated in California. Serving as a unique nexus between the profession and the pipeline of diverse attorneys, Ms. JD’s online community provides a forum for dialogue and networking among women lawyers and law students. With campus chapters throughout the nation, Ms. JD is also home to the National Women Law Students’ Organization. Ms. JD celebrates women’s achievements, addresses remaining challenges, and facilitates continued progress by bringing legal practitioners and law students together to share in an ongoing conversation about gender issues in law school and the profession.

Did you know that women equity partners at law firms make only 78% of what their male counterparts make? Despite years of progress towards gender equity in the legal field, we at Ms. JD know there's still a lot of work to be done. Whether that's making sure that students from all backgrounds have the resources to get into and succeed in law school, or providing the leadership support and training for women lawyers to advocate for themselves, our programs and community are working to build a better future for women in law. Want to make a difference? Get involved by donating, volunteering, or connecting us with your firm: https://buff.ly/3Y8a6RU Source: https://buff.ly/4ePb3H0
