MSC provides values-aligned infrastructure for BIPOC and women-led organizations.
About us
MSC provides values-aligned infrastructure for BIPOC and women-led organizations at the intersection of racial inequity and environmental justice. We put love at the center and embody the values and spirit of our partners. Our mission is to provide values aligned, holistic intermediary services enabling access to crucial infrastructure and thought partnership for BIPOC, women, and LGBTQIA movement leaders, activists, and communities challenging intersectional issues of systemic racism, rampant environmental destruction, and crippling economic exploitation. We are unique in that we do not operate as a singular organization but as a collective ecosystem incubating and accelerating the work of our partner projects, which speaks to our values of radical interdependence and love. Our vision is of a Just Transition from a world of domination, extraction, and violence — where the few live at the expense of the many — to a world of interdependence, liberation, and resilience — where the many govern for the benefit of all. We understand that a Just Transition is only possible when the voices of BIPOC, women, and GNC leaders are honored, celebrated, and amplified, not merely tolerated.

🚨 A significant victory for justice and equality! A Florida federal judge has permanently blocked SB 254, a law that banned all gender-affirming care for minors, restricted healthcare for trans adults, and imposed other medical care limits for trans people. This ruling is a powerful affirmation of the rights and dignity of transgender individuals. ✊🏽🏳️⚧️ At Movement Strategy Center, we stand in solidarity with the trans community and celebrate this crucial step toward ensuring equitable healthcare for all. Let's continue to support and advocate for the rights of transgender people everywhere. Read more about this landmark decision: https://lnkd.in/gMX6Q9u2 #TransRights #JusticePrevails #EquityForAll

On this Fourth of July, we're reminded that true progress comes from actively fighting for justice. 💪 Nwamaka Agbo's powerful piece in The Chronicle of Philanthropy highlights the crucial role of organized resistance led by Black Americans in driving democracy's greatest advancements. "Those who seek the full realization of our democracy strive only for the narratives and promises made to all Americans. As history shows, progress is achieved by constantly demanding greater inclusion and equity. Social advancements aren't handed out to people standing in line, patiently waiting their turn." Agbo also addresses the shortcomings of philanthropy: "Philanthropy's heavy-handed restricted funding fails to recognize that people live not in silos but lead whole and integrated lives." It is a moral responsibility to use our voice, power, and resources to support those committed to the ever-enduring struggle for a more just world, a fair and equitable democracy, and the right for everyone to participate in this great multiracial democratic experiment. Let's continue to demand greater inclusion and equity for all. Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/gEJKZwv8 #BlackResistance

Disability Pride Month, celebrated every July to mark the ADA's anniversary, is a time to redefine Pride. 🌈 At Movement Strategy Center, we center and celebrate the joy that comes from our collective liberation, uplifting all voices within our community, including those of disabled individuals. 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ Our latest blog features Tiana Moon from Brown Boi Project, exploring gender, the transformative power of liberatory masculinity, and leadership within BIPOC and LGBTQIA communities. 🌈💪 By creating inclusive spaces, we foster connection and belonging for everyone. "Liberatory Masculinity is our effort to create generous possibility models for what masculinity can be [and] an intervention that disrupts static and stoic expectations of emotionality, behavior, and expression." Imagine a future where financial security allows every individual to prioritize care and community. Movement Strategy Center recognizes that Universal Basic Income (UBI) programs are essential for realizing a #JustTransition. The proposed measure to create a UBI program in Oregon, providing $750 to every resident, including children, has officially qualified for the November ballot. If approved by voters, this historic measure would make Oregon the first state in the U.S. to implement a universal basic income program, setting a powerful precedent for other states to follow. While opponents like Oregon Business and Industry argue it imposes a massive tax increase, research has shown that UBI offers individuals the stability needed to pursue meaningful opportunities and contribute to their communities in more profound ways. Learn more about UBI's potential impact on our society: https://lnkd.in/gKSpB8EP #UniversalBasicIncome #EconomicJustice
