Last weekend, Team Move For Hunger raced from Napa to Sonoma to smell the rose! A combined total of 66 runners representing MOVER'S CHOICE Insurance Program, BizCHOICE Transportation Insurance, Avant Underwriters, Division of Specialty Program Group LLC and SPG - Specialty Program Group walked, jogged and ran the 5k and Half Marathon! Together, runners ran a total of 484.2 miles, and raised nearly $31,000, providing over 90k meals to our local communities! Not only did the team set an incredible new fundraising record for their annual participation in the race, but three runners from SPG finished the half marathon in the top 150 (out of over 2300 runners)! We are so proud of you Team Napa to Sonoma, and we can't wait to see what you accomplish in 2025! Want to turn your miles into meals? Learn more ➡️ https://vist.ly/3fyqd

Move For Hunger mobilizes transportation networks to deliver surplus food to communities in need.
About us
Move For Hunger is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that mobilizes transportation networks to deliver surplus food to communities in need. As you may be aware, many people throw out a good deal of “stuff” when they move. Unfortunately, a lot of this “stuff” is food that could be delivered to a family in need rather than thrown away. That’s where we come in! Move For Hunger teams up with professional moving companies, corporate housing providers, relocation management companies, and multifamily apartment communities across the U.S. & Canada to rescue unopened, non-perishable food items from people moving and deliver it to local food banks. In addition to collecting food from people who are moving to new homes, Move For Hunger helps companies and individuals across the United States and Canada organize thousands of successful food drives and employee engagement events each year. Since its founding in 2009, Move For Hunger has delivered more than 32 million pounds of food - that's 26.5 million meals - to food banks and pantries nationwide.

What a fantastic weekend! We had an amazing time at the 2024 Napa to Sonoma Half Marathon and Rosé 5K. It was incredible to see everyone running, jogging, walking, and crossing those finish lines with huge smiles! You all did an outstanding job and should be proud of the medals you earned! Engaging in these activities strengthens our bonds and enriches our company culture. 🌟 Celebrating National Intern Day! 🌟 Today, we want to spotlight the incredible interns who have brought their passion and dedication to Move For Hunger. This morning, they had the opportunity to sit down with our founder, Adam Lowy, and they shared some insightful conversations that highlighted their experiences and future aspirations. During the meeting, Adam shared the story of Move For Hunger's beginnings, reminiscing about how he and the interns back in the day showed up at the Today Show with duffel bags full of t-shirts! His message was clear: "Scrappiness is in our DNA," reflecting on the organization's growth and resilience. Learn about our 2024 summer interns here ➡️ https://vist.ly/3fudt

🎥 Hot off the press! While at the National Apartment Association (Naahq)'s Apartmentalize, we filmed an impact recap with our partners Assurant and Updater. We are extremely grateful to all the organizations that play a vital role in our mission to combat food insecurity, offer support, and increase access to fresh food nationwide.
Did you know that more than 44 million Americans face hunger every day including 1 in 5 children? 🥫 And, that 38% of the food produced in the U.S. every year is wasted? 🗑️ Last month, we caught up with our partners Move For Hunger and Updater during the annual #Apartmentalize conference to present them with a $175,000 donation to help fight hunger and food insecurity in North America. Earlier this week, the Oceanport Paddle Club hosted a 'Spread The Love' food drive and collected over 700 lbs. of peanut butter and jelly. 🥜🍇 After doing some quick math, that donation could provide enough ingredients to make over 3,800 sandwiches (just add the bread)! Peanut butter is one of the most frequently requested items by food banks because it is kid-friendly, shelf-stable, and protein-rich. Thank you for helping us spread the love! Recently, Aspire Bakeries, the Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation , and Move For Hunger teamed up to deliver over 5,000 Otis Spunkmeyer cookies to Victory Assembly of God in Pittsgrove, NJ. Thank you to TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®, a member of our network, and to every incredible organization that made this happen. Your kindness makes a difference!
