In July and August, we had the privilege of showcasing four longtime customers who have significantly impacted their local communities and even nationally in our video series Octane Origins. Hearing their stories reminded us that our customers are the heartbeat of what fuels our passion for racing, fast cars, and more. About us
Since 1964, Motor State Distributing has set the pace for worldwide distribution of high performance automotive components for racing, street, and off-road use. Motor State extends excellent customer service and a complete line of high quality products to speed shops, auto parts merchants, machine shops, and chassis and engine builders. Over two thirds of Motor State's 153,000 square foot complex is devoted to warehousing. With over 80,000 part numbers in stock, from over 570 performance equipment manufacturers, the product mix is diverse enough that a complete race car can be built strictly from parts stocked within the warehouse. Over 22 linear miles of shelving, on two levels, provide adequate space to allow the company to take maximum advantage of volume purchase incentives. This assures that items are always in stock for immediate shipment, saving the company money and, more importantly, allowing these savings to be passed on to customers in all corners of the world. Motor State's modern in-house Advertising and Publications Department creates nine specialty product catalogs, sale flyers, advertising copy and newsletters. All publications are available as hard copies or on line for downloading. Customers have the option of purchasing customized copies of these catalogs with their own business logos and information on the cover Mission Statement Motor State Distributing will always provide quality automotive performance parts and accessories, prompt, courteous service and fair pricing. Special emphasis will be placed upon promoting business practices that preserve the customers' individuality, uniqueness and ability to compete within their chosen marketplace.

On Tuesday, we welcomed racers from HOT ROD Drag Week as they made their way to US131 Motorsports Park in Martin, MI for the next day’s competition. It was great connecting with the drivers and hearing all the great stories they had, especially hearing that many of them are customers of our dealers. We support the growing interest in drag-and-drive events, and encourage the participation of our very own employee, Brian Robbins, as he competes in this weeklong event. #motorsports #hotrod #racing

Reflecting on the early years of Motor State Distributing, our catalogs were far more limited than today’s comprehensive offerings. Despite the changes, our core values remain unchanged: a commitment to providing our customers with a diverse selection, exceptional service, and competitive pricing. Thank you for your continued trust and support. #customercommitment #customerfirst #throwback

When George Lane established Lane Automotive in 1964, he set out to bring high-performance racing parts to enthusiasts who shared his passion for speed and tire smoke. Starting from a modest storefront, Lane Automotive grew to what many know now as Motor State Distributing. Today, we still maintain the local retail storefront, Lane Automotive, meeting the needs of regional racers, hot rodders, and motorsports fans. Nearly 60 years after George began selling parts out of his garage, Motor State Distributing remains proudly family-owned. We still get excited partnering with businesses and consumers who share our dedication to racing and high-performance automotive products. #racing #motorsports #automotive
