Disclaimer: NOT a drinking water post. But it needs to be said for our sewer friends! ❤️🌊 Human-made items, especially baby wipes wreak havoc on the country’s sanitary sewer systems, often congealing into gelatinous masses called “fatbergs” that can stretch hundreds of feet. Wipes alone cost utilities in the U.S. about $441 million annually. Recently Congress voted and passed Bill 2964 that will require sanitary products including: baby wipes, bathroom wipes, cleaning wipes and personal care wipes to be clearly and conspicuously labeled with a “DO NOT FLUSH” symbol. Who agrees that these products need this type of labeling? Read more 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼 https://lnkd.in/gJPWFnVE

💧 💧 💧 Its Water Wednesday The first known underground water main system was constructed on the island of Crete, Greece by the ancient Minoan civilization in approximately 2200 and 1400 BC (bronze age.) This advanced water management system was constructed mainly from terracotta pipes and supplied water to the Palace of Knossos. The ancient Minoans were far ahead of their time, as they had flushing toilets, sewer piping and drainage, and even methods to collect rainwater! The more you know. Source: https://lnkd.in/g6uP7M3H

💧 💧 💧 Its Water Wednesday! Did you know that water on Earth today is the same water that’s been here for nearly 5 BILLION YEARS?! So far, we haven’t managed to create any new water and only a small fraction of our water escapes into space. So, the same water in your glass or bottle that you’re holding right now is the SAME water that those thirsty dinosaurs were sipping on 65 MILLION years ago! ( Don’t worry, modern filtration and safety standards ensure that you aren’t drinking some ancient bacteria or Dinosaur Drool) The more you know! Source: castlewater.co.uk/blog

💧 💧 💧 Its Water Wednesday We can’t live without water and we use it everyday, but do we actually know where it comes from? The origin of Earth's water is a complex interplay of celestial events. Research suggests that water-rich celestial bodies, such as asteroids or comets, collided with Earth, bringing along significant water content. It is also theorized that water emerged during the planet's formation, released through volcanic activity. This process involved the expulsion of water vapor into the atmosphere, subsequently condensing and falling as precipitation. These intricate processes over billions of years have resulted in Earth's vast and diverse water resources. The more you know! Source: https://lnkd.in/gbeYSTAd
