Wow, what a day! Today marked the return of Camp 911 for the first time since 2019! We were thrilled to welcome over 100 3rd, 4th & 5th grade campers for a morning of educational fun that featured 13 stations focused on a variety of safety topics including water safety, fire safety, first aid and stop the bleed! We hope all the campers had an amazing time today and feel prepared to act in case of an emergency! A special thank you to the area agencies and volunteers who joined us in making Camp 911 a success, including our partner Morris Community YMCA!

#HAVhope Friday is a national day of awareness when hospitals and healthcare systems join together to take a stand against workplace and community violence, one of our nation’s major public health and safety issues that occurs in hospitals…in emergency rooms…in physician offices. These are your local healthcare workers asking you to join us in building a safe workplace and community by bringing an end to violence. Thank you for your support!

Please join us in recognizing area EMS Professionals for the remarkable, lifesaving service they provide for our community. This week marks the 50th Anniversary of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week, and we have been celebrating and recognizing EMS agencies for their hard work and dedication. Today, we hosted an award ceremony and luncheon just outside the ambulance entrance of the Hospital to recognize the accomplishments of the agencies in the last year. Thank you EMS professionals!

Nurses Week was the perfect time to celebrate the recent national recognition that we received for Nurse Satisfaction, including Top Performer awards for RN-to-RN Teamwork and Collaboration, Adequacy of Resources and Staffing, Autonomy, and Interprofessional Relationships. The recognition is based on results of a survey taken by our nurses and how the results compare to other hospitals across the country. Our scores were at the very top and an indication that our nurses have high satisfaction in their jobs! We also celebrated Nurses Week with poster presentations created by our nurses that demonstrate how they continuously improve care for our patients and contribute to the success of our organization. Happy Nurses Week to the most amazing nurses on the planet!

They say that Nurses are the beating hearts of healthcare. Led into the profession by a desire to help people, Nurses truly are the most extraordinary people. They are compassionate and empathetic. Even-tempered, optimistic and detail-oriented. Nurses are skilled, effective communicators and critical thinkers. They are strong, yet gentle and flexible. They are knowledgeable. Incredibly knowledgeable. And so hard working. Above all, they have an inherent passion for taking care of others. As our country celebrates National Nurses Week May 6-12, we want to express our thanks and gratitude for all 435 of our incredible Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers registered nurses. We appreciate all that our nurses do for our hospital, our patients, and our community. If you have nurses in your life, be sure to thank them for the incredible work they do every day!
