Congratulations to the 4th year students of the spring Diplomacy Lab Studio at Virginia Tech College of Architecture, Arts, and Design with Prof Joseph Wheeler. This studio was in collaboration with U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations and #morrisadjmiarchitects. Thank you again Stephanie Leedom, AIA and William Rockwell. ICFF is officially around the corner and we’re excited to share where you can find MA at this year’s fair: Bespoke x AD Pro Salon We are thrilled to reveal that MA has partnered with ICFF, AD PRO and a long list of wonderful artisans and vendors on the design of the Bespoke x AD PRO Salon (Booth 1657), the central hub of a new fair section dedicated to craftsmanship. From May 19-21, the Bespoke Salon will host a full lineup of events, programming and social gatherings that you will not want to miss, beginning with the Bespoke Salon Grand Opening Tour on Sunday, May 19, from 10 am - 11 am. ICFF Talks: Trend Spotting, Then and Now Additionally, MA’s Founder & Principal Morris Adjmi (2023 ICFF Designer of the Year) and Design Director of Interiors Becca Roderick will join AD PRO editor Melissa Studach and AD100 designer Leyden Lewis in a panel discussion that delves into past and present issues of AD to explore enduring, well-crafted interiors that still inspire today. The panel will take place on The Main Stage (Booth 1377) on Monday, May 20, from 10:30 am - 11 am. Following the Main Stage talk, be sure to make your way back to the Bespoke x AD PRO Salon Social, a spirited afterparty where you can mix and mingle with the panelists and fellow AD PRO members. Yesterday, MA hosted an office tour and design workshop for ARCscholars, an organization that introduces architecture to young adults living in New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) housing. Working with MA and the program’s professional and City Tech mentors, the students formulated a design concept for a building facade or interior space. Selecting materials was the most fun for everyone! On Thursday, April 18th, MA's Executive Director Ian Mills will participate in a panel discussion on enhancing luxury hospitality assets through brands, retail & design at the Bisnow New York Hotels & Hospitality Conference. Based in MA’s New Orleans Office, Ian oversees the design and delivery of many of MA's hospitality projects. He is currently overseeing the architectural and interior design of a Four Seasons Hotel & Residences in Charleston and the architectural design of a St. Regis Hotel & Residences in Nashville. Ian also recently oversaw the delivery of two hospitality projects within the Water Street Phase I District in Tampa: The EDITION Hotel & Residence—Tampa Bay’s first five-star hotel—and the adjacent 788,000-sf Asher / ROOST Tampa building. Also in Florida, Ian was responsible for the delivery of The Goodtime Hotel within the Miami Beach Art Deco Historic District. Click the link below to learn more about the Bisnow event.
