It’s been a year since the RSPB started work to restore the new Lakenheath Fen wetland. Through the Morgan Sindall Group plc partnership land that was once arable fields, is gradually turning into a wetland habitat that conservationists hope will see the return of many species of rare wildlife.  As you can see from the enclosed short film, it has proven very popular with the nature reserve’s Marsh Harrier population - once an endangered species in the UK and still a bird of conservation concern today. This transformative nature recovery project is something to celebrate!  In total, the transformed land is 67 hectares – equivalent in size to more than 86 football pitches. It will greatly extend the already existing fenland at RSPB Lakenheath Fen, creating more habitat for wildlife to live, breed, and feed in. Plus in time it will also bolster the public’s enjoyment of nature. We are pleased to announce a new collaboration as we continue to focus on reducing embodied carbon in construction by partnering with Madaster. This collaboration will help us create digital material passports which offer an opportunity to gather and organise data about materials contained within a building, which in turn enables material reuse creating a circular economy within the built environment. We are pleased to announce this morning that Morgan Sindall Group delivered a strong performance in 2023 against a difficult market backdrop.   Our results were another record for us and reflect the strength and breadth of the Group’s operations and the talent and commitment of our people.   Group revenue increased by 14% to over £4.1bn, while adjusted operating profit before tax was up 6% to £144.6m.  The Group’s balance sheet remains strong with net cash of £461m, and its high-quality secured order book of £8.9bn, up 5% on the prior year leaves the Group well-positioned for the future and on track to deliver a result for 2024 in line with its current expectations.   Click the link below for our results video, which will provide you with a bit more colour:

We were delighted to announce that Morgan Sindall Group has once again retained its MSCI ‘AAA’ rating for our environmental, social and governance performance. This is a long-term commitment for us, and we are proud to remain leaders in this field for the 3rd year running.   In addition, we are also proud to announce that we have achieved a CDP 'A' score for carbon reduction for the 4th year running. This represents our transparency and performance on climate change. Whilst the number of companies scored is growing, we were one of just 346 to make the Carbon Disclosure Project’s A list which provides a snapshot of our environment disclosure and performance, out of over 21,000 companies scored.   Our responsible business approach has long been an integral part of our business strategy and these accolades are a testament to that. https://lnkd.in/dtAJDig #CDP #climatechange #responsiblebusiness #teamsuccess
