About us

Bringing a wind farm to life is a laborious and time-consuming process, involving a great amount of resources. Established in 1997, Monsson Group has focused on renewable energy since 2004 and became a major wind farm developer country wide with more than 2400 MW projects in its portfolio. Driven by the hard work of more than 500 specialized employees, Monsson Group performs a wide range of services for wind farms comprising development, construction, operation, maintenance, service and electricity trading. Energy demand is on a constant rise due to increasing population and further industrialization, at the same time fossil fuel reserves are diminishing. The pressing global demand of finding solutions for the climate change is today’s problem that will influence tomorrow. Through the forces of Nature we are enabled to have a security of supply and a sustainable electricity generation, thus we see Nature as the only solution for today’s energy problem. Starting 2014, Monsson Group began the expansion world wide, and has now offices in Stockholm, Bucharest, Warsaw, Istambul, Qatar, Cape Town and New Zealand.

Excited to share a major milestone in our project journey - Mireasa Hybrid Power Plant with a Battery Storage capacity of 216MWh unit. Back in April 2024, we connected the largest Energy Battery Storage capacity in Romania to the National Grid. This project represented the first stage of a total of 216MWh storage unit to be installed at the same location by the end of the year. Fast forward to today, and we’ve made remarkable progress. The structural framework for stage 2 is up, the cooling equipment is now in place, and we’re nearing completion on other key components of the project. Read more about our project here : https://lnkd.in/dEN2F-iq Stay tuned for more updates as we approach the next phase of construction. #Monsson #BESS #BatteryEnergy #StorageSystem #constructionSiteJournal #Mireasa

#PTECC in Bucharest is winding down with topics spanning from scaling-up We were honoured to participate in the panel that looked at Industrial decarbonisation through the lens of community engagement and retained competitiveness. Key things to check-out: #Slovakia has one of the cleanest electricity in the EU thanks to early and well-planned coal-phase out, accelerated renewable deployment and clear role for nuclear energy - learning how Slovakia has managed to navigate the transition is inspired and worth talking about more #Romania has made exceptionally positive strides to diversify decarbonisation portfolio thanks to tapping into its renewables potential, continued attempts to scale up nuclear energy and developing durable policies or as it has been coined on the panel "continuity of discontinuity" Check out Monsson 's community engagement approach through carefully developed re-skilling and up-skilling projects, as we need more shared learnings across the region : www.renewacad.eu

Renewacad, a MONSSON project, will be present at the Fifth meeting of the Partnership for Transatlantic Energy and Climate Cooperation (P-TECC) The US Department of Energy, Romanian Ministry of Energy, and the Atlantic Council Global Energy Center host the fifth meeting of the Partnership for Transatlantic Energy and Climate Cooperation (P-TECC) on July 23-24, 2024 at Palace of the Parliament, Bucharest, Romania. P-TECC is the pre-eminent vehicle for energy ministers and delegations from Eastern and Central Europe to address energy issues in Europe and forge cooperative paths towards a more diversified, clean, secure, and sustainable energy future for all. The Fifth Ministerial Meeting will focus on European energy security; industrial policy to advance clean energy from all sectors including renewables, hydrogen, and abated fossil energy; physical and cybersecurity of energy infrastructure; the advancement of geothermal energy as a largely untapped but potentially impactful solution for the region; and strategies to support the rebuilding of Ukraine’s energy sector. This year’s meeting kicks off with a Business Forum and Alliance of Green Cities event on Tuesday, July 23. The Business Forum will provide an opportunity for CEOs and other high-level public and private industry leaders to discuss energy security, the energy transition, and infrastructure projects. The Alliance of Green Cities event will bring together regional and municipal political leaders with industry representatives to discuss how cities at the local level implement strategies to accelerate clean pathways and serve as laboratories for change at the national level. The Ministerial will take place Wednesday, July 24, and will focus on the important role of industrial policy in meeting our transatlantic energy security and climate goals. The Ministerial will also provide fora for discussion on fostering and enhancing solidarity among European countries and furthering coordination and cooperation on energy-related projects. Nala Renewables has signed an agreement with renewable energy group Monsson to acquire a 61MW solar project located in western Romania. Construction is anticipated to commence during the third quarter of 2024, with the array expected to be operational and connected to the Romanian power grid in 2025. The project includes the ability for further capacity expansion through the addition of a battery energy storage system (BESS) which Nala Renewables plans to integrate with the project. The solar project benefits from a long-term offtake agreement, providing revenue security for at least 12 years from commissioning. The terms of the agreements are not disclosed. “We’re delighted to have closed our first acquisition with Monsson who have significant experience in developing and operating renewable energy projects in Romania,” said Nala Renewables director Will Herlinger. He added: “It’s an attractive country to develop, acquire, build and operate renewable projects, in part due to a supportive regulatory environment driven by ambitious renewable energy targets. “We expect to continue to be active in the CEE region in the coming years.” Head of M&A at Monsson Sebastian Enache added: “We are pleased to partner with Nala Renewables on this project and support their activities in the CEE region. “Monsson is committed to its role in ensuring a just transition to clean energy and a stable energy system. “All of our projects have large battery energy storage systems considered in their design because our vision is that renewable energy can be delivered also as base load.” https://lnkd.in/dwv6Ynp7

Last month, the Council of the European Union adopted a framework to strengthen Europe's "zero net" technology ecosystem. This regulation accelerates the deployment of green technologies essential for EU climate goals, solidifying Europe's leadership in green industry. Key Benefits: Simplified authorisation for strategic projects. Easier market access for strategic tech products. Enhanced workforce skills through industry academies and industrial zones. Coordination platform for EU action. Goals: Achieve 40% of EU needs for "zero net" technologies by 2040. Target 15% of global production by 2040. Annual CO2 injection capacity of 50 million tons by 2030. Next Steps: Following May's approval, the regulation will be published in the Official Journal of the EU and enter into force. 🌐 https://www.monsson.eu/ #ZeroNetIndustry #GreenTechnologies #EUClimateAction
