This past week our team members had the opportunity to attend the 14th Annual Native American Healthcare Conference. Cami had a life-changing experience as a nurse and chronic care manager at Monovo. Read her story below: Recently, I was doing a routine part of my job and checking in with one of my chronic care patients when they disclosed to me that they were having suicidal thoughts. After assessing the patient and the situation further, I discovered that the patient had accidentally started taking a prescription medication that they had been prescribed over a year before. This specific medication started to interact with other medications the patient was also currently taking, and these medication interactions led to the patient having suicidal ideations. Because of Monovo’s virtual health structure, this patient was able to get immediate help from me as well as our team of healthcare providers, and we were able to coordinate a plan of action and safety for this patient alongside their regular medical provider. After these interventions, the patient’s mental and physical health has improved significantly, and their physical and mental health continues to be monitored and managed regularly. #monovohealthcare #healthtech #monovo
