Okay moms, it's Friday afternoon and we need your help! As you may have seen, this week, Moms First officially expanded Paidleave.ai nationally — amazing news for parents who could use a helping (AI) hand to get the paid leave benefits they need to afford to take time off to care for their family! Here's where you come in... - Do you live in one of the 10 states that have live paid leave programs? (full list of states below) - Did you try and access paid leave when you were pregnant or caring for a sick loved one? - Are you pregnant or caregiving now and looking for some extra help to access to your state's paid leave? - Finally, are you willing to share your story with us? Send us a message if any of the above applies to you and you're open to sharing your story! We're talking with reporters about Paidleave.ai and looking to elevate the stories of moms (and dads!) who need some help getting paid family leave. Thanks in advance! 💚 💡Here are the 10 states with live paid family leave programs! If you live here, you can now use Paidleave.ai: - California - Colorado - Connecticut - DC - Massachusetts - New Jersey - New York - Oregon - Rhode Island - Washington

Letters to the editor (LTE) are a simple, yet powerful way to make your voice heard. Candidates keep a close eye on the local news, so a LTE is basically a personal note delivered directly to candidates’ desks. Moms across the country are sharing their child care stories in letters to the editor of their local papers. Ensure child care is the priority list for candidates in YOUR community by writing a letter to the editor. Download our LTE toolkit here — we've made it super easy to draft a letter of your own: https://lnkd.in/eWdVAYh8 Need some extra help? Join us Monday 9/30 at 1:30PM for our Letter Power Hour. Together, we can get child care on the record up and down the ballot. RSVP here: https://lnkd.in/ejqf6PQr

Moms often overachieve and outperform not because of the conditions of their employment but in spite of them. Moms make up the gap between what’s needed and what’s offered, and they do so while elevating their teams, boosting workplace cultures and delivering real results – all while keeping the world turning at home. In our new report, Productive, Purposeful, and Profitable: How Hiring Moms Gives Companies a Competitive Edge, we worked with Etsy and Moms First to deliver compelling data on moms' value and the return on investment for businesses who hire them. Join us on Tuesday, October 8, as we talk with Penny Queller, Marissa Comart (she/her), and Molly Day about the true impact of moms in our workforce and how companies can unlock the power of Mom to reach their business goals. ⤵

🌟 It's been a *big* week for Moms First! Yesterday, on stage at the Clinton Global Initiative Annual Meeting, our founder and CEO Reshma Saujani announced the national expansion of Paidleave.ai, our groundbreaking generative AI tool to increase paid family leave adoption. 🤝 Made possible with support from Craig Newmark Philanthropies, Capital One, and Robin Hood — and with early technical assistance and partnership from OpenAI and Novy — the first of its kind generative AI tool helps working families access unclaimed state paid family leave benefits. 🤰🏻 Decades of research shows that paid family leave programs can be a powerful driver of economic growth and improved maternal and child health outcomes. And, as national paid family leave has stalled, states have taken up the gauntlet. 💰 Nine states and Washington, DC have live paid family leave programs, with four more states beginning to pay benefits in the next few years. 💸 While these programs are broadly popular, they’re severely underutilized with fewer than 5% (!) of eligible workers claiming their paid family leave benefits due to low awareness and complicated application processes. In other words, parents are leaving money on the table. 🗽That’s why Moms First launched Paidleave.ai as a pilot in New York back in Dec 2023 — to prove that generative AI can not only make government more accessible but also boost benefit access for working families. ⚡️️ The NY pilot was wildly successful and showed the potential for AI to boost paid family leave adoption and grow a national movement in favor of these policies. The pilot also firmed up something we at Moms First already knew: moms care about this issue and they need innovative solutions to tackle it. 📲 Be sure to check out Paidleave.ai and read the full press release about this expansion: https://lnkd.in/dFSYW46Z

👎 New Jersey’s child care crisis disadvantages children, parents, educators, businesses, and the state’s economy by keeping parents out of the workforce and unable to support their families, and costing the state an estimated $3.6 billion each year. 👧🏻 👶🏾 🧒🏽 👦🏾 👶🏻 Moms First believes that all New Jersey families should have what they need to make the most of the critical infant and toddler years, like access to safe, nurturing, consistent early care and education. 🤝 So we are proud to be a founding member of NJ’s statewide First 1,000 Days Policy Coalition, along with Rutgers University - Center for Women and WorkAdvocates for Children of New Jersey, the Council of New Jersey Grantmakers, The Burke Foundation, the Turrell Fund, the Maher Charitable Foundation, the Schumann Fund for New Jersey, the HENRY & MARILYN TAUB FOUNDATION, and many others. 📰  Read more about the First 1,000 Days Policy Coalition: https://bit.ly/4gBhvSG
