"At Aztec Airways, we are tasked with flying time-critical, radioactive, and hazardous cancer treatment packages to remote locations. We depend on MNX drivers to transport these life-saving packages to medical facilities, where the staff and patients await their timely delivery for crucial interventions." Capt. Stevenson marvels at the precision of MNX drivers – "The MNX drivers always arrive on time and know exactly where to go. After landing, we taxi the aircraft to the ramp, where MNX drivers are directed to the aircraft. Once I, or another Aztec Airways certified HAZMAT CARRIAGE pilot, shut down the engines and open the door, the life-saving medicine is unloaded and distributed to individual destination drivers." "Upon verifying and loading the heavy lead-encased packages into their vehicles, the MNX drivers depart to meet their awaiting medical teams. We consistently marvel at the coordination, dedication, and skill of those who ensure the seamless process from order to treatment for cancer patients." Capt. Stevenson’s recognition of MNX drivers demonstrates that every second counts in this high-stakes operation.

We’re excited to kick off our Driver Spotlight Series with a daring team member! Recently, Joseph Herdt swapped his cozy office for the driver’s seat on a crucial radio pharm delivery, experiencing the "final mile" firsthand and gaining a new appreciation for our drivers! Here’s why—
 The day began with an urgent request: “How quickly can we get the shipment to the hospital?” Joe took on the challenge, heading to the airport where he faced confusion locating the shipment. After coordinating with the MNX team (thanks Mike Ingram), he discovered the shipment was mistakenly taken to the agent's office. Joe retrieved it and drove through icy Des Moines roads to the hospital. At the hospital, he navigated heavy snowfall and a nearly unusable parking lot. Inside, he faced more obstacles finding the “Nuclear Medicine Hot Lab” amid staff uncertainty and a maze-like hospital layout. After multiple elevator rides and seeking help, Joe successfully completed the delivery! Joe’s experience underscores the intricate challenges and relentless dedication our drivers face with every delivery. And, how a little bit of empathy can go a long way.
