Small business owners: The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) wants to remind you about new beneficial ownership reporting requirements.   Under the bipartisan Corporate Transparency Act, enacted in 2021 to curb illicit finance, many companies are required to report basic information to FinCEN about the individuals who ultimately own or control them. Filing is simple, secure, and free of charge. The filing deadline for most companies that are required to report is January 1, 2025. For more details, visit https://fincen.gov/boi
