We’re celebrating #NTTW24 and what travel means to Mississippi – from our communities to our jobs to our economy—travel touches and improves it all. Tourism is also the first date of economic development. Potential investors and site selectors look at communities and the quality of life they can offer. Increasingly, this is a key factor in economic development decisions. Those first looks at a community in Mississippi are usually met with amazing outdoor adventures. #visitms #mstourism #visitms

This #NTTW24, let’s celebrate how the travel industry powers the economy, connects our people, creates quality job opportunities and supports our communities. Travel is invaluable to America’s success. Tourism supports approximately 105,000 jobs in Mississippi. However, 17,000 direct and indirect jobs have been lost since the pandemic. Mississippi Tourism Association is working on strategies to train and recruit quality tourism professionals to keep up with the demand in this sector. Have you experienced Mississippi's trails? We have many options for cycling throughout the state. #mstourism #visitms

It was a great day celebrating Mississippi tourism last week at the Capitol! $7.5 BILLION spent by visitors in 2023, which contributed $744 million in state and local taxes. We were honored to have Lieutenant Governor Delbert Hosemann as our esteemed speaker. There is so much for Mississippi's fourth-largest industry to be proud of and we have some of the hardest working tourism professionals around!
