Sustainability is about more than just our environmental footprint; it is also about our impact on people and communities. While companies can usually clearly understand human rights within their own operations, the picture for the supply chain is often murkier. This is why MLC is a member of Business for Social Responsibility and is using the BSR 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗗𝘂𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 to evaluate, map, prioritize, and mitigate human rights risks in our supply chain. 55 years ago today, U.S. astronauts made history by landing on the moon. 🌔 𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗶𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝗹𝘆 𝟭𝟱% 𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗲? While Earth’s calcium precipitated from aquatic seas, minerals formed on the moon when its magma ocean cooled and crystallized. Calcium oxide is a key component in building materials like cement, leading some scientists to suggest that the moon’s naturally abundant supply of this essential mineral could be used to build a lunar colony. #MoonLanding #EssentialMinerals #Lime #Cement

More than minerals – complete solutions. In addition to providing industry-leading hydrated lime products, MLC brings added value to treatment companies through our 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀. Using our portable high-solids hydrated lime equipment, MLC assists customers with education, on-site trials, and validating operational savings over quicklime slaking or other treatment chemicals. This equipment can also be utilized to supply lime slurry uninterrupted during retro-fitting or maintenance on existing lime slurry systems. #LimeSlurry #LimeSolutions #WaterTreatment #WasteTreatment #ChemicalIndustry

So far this year, MLC’s Mine Rescue Teams have already taken home 10 different awards for regional competitions! At our latest showing in the Inaugural Skills Competition in Farmington, MO, the team was awarded: 🥇 1st place on Bench (Kyle Clark earned his 4th consecutive top placement!) 🥈 2nd place in First Aid (Jesse Gegg, CSP, Luke Wildhaber, and Zack Duncan did an exceptional job expertly treating the “victim” injuries during their scenario.) Great job to all for these achievements, as well as to Jesse Gegg for helping to plan and coordinate the event. When it comes to safety preparedness, our team’s work is never done. They are already hard at work preparing for the upcoming national competition in Lexington. #MineRescue #SafetyFirst #OurPeopleMakeTheDifference
