We heal vets when they need it most - right now. It takes a community to heal a Warrior & a Warrior to heal a community.
About us
Mission 22 has three major programs. Funding veterans to receive treatment for Post Traumatic Stress, Traumatic Brain Injury and other issues they may be facing through our many partner organizations, large scale public art to honor veterans and creating social impact for the issues veterans are facing today, Mission 22 has comprehensive programs to treat veterans suffering from PTS and TBI. We also have partnered with other organizations that offer amazing services to veterans as well as doctors and treatment facilities across the country. The VA is a great resource but they are understaffed and underfunded. With your help we can get our veterans the help they need now, without the wait. Our partner organizations specialize in Post Traumatic Stress, Traumatic Brain Injury, substance abuse and all of the issues veterans are facing today. We're rounding out this month's exploration of hydration from the Odyssey Coaching program with tips on improving hydration. An easy-to-remember rule is to drink (in water) about half our body weight in ounces. Kickstart your day, and get those ounces in with two large glasses of water first thing every morning. Water with electrolytes or a hint of flavoring (from fruit or veggies) is a great place to start for healthier brain function. Did you know dehydration can have a surprising impact on mental health, especially for those living with PTS? Proper hydration is vital for brain function, emotional regulation, and overall cognitive clarity. When dehydrated, individuals may experience increased anxiety, irritability, and fatigue, exacerbating PTS symptoms. Ensuring regular water intake is a simple yet powerful step toward better managing stress and maintaining emotional well-being. Prioritizing hydration can enhance both mental and physical resilience. #Mission22 #FamilyHealing #PostTraumaticGrowth #VeteranWellness #VeteranSupportServices #UnitedWeHeal #VeteranWellnessTips

Last week, we talked about the vital importance of water and proper hydration (scroll back if you need a refresher). In today's Odyssey Coaching program sneak peek, we're taking this concept further with "Drinks." What we consume in our drinking habits is arguably more important than what we consume in solid food. Beyond proper hydration, we have to consider the calories and nutrients we consume through our drinks. Sugary drinks like juices and soda (yesiten diet) can put our bodies into crisis mode, whereas caffeinated options (coffee, tea) can dehydrate us. When we swap out these "empty" options and choose water, our bodies respond with reduced brain fog, lessened chronic pain, and increased energy.
