Large-scale #deployment of #CDR technologies and approaches will require an advanced understanding of the associated social, economic, and environmental challenges - and opportunities. Life Cycle Analysis (#LCA) is the most widely used methodology to assess products, processes, and systems on their entire life-cycle environmental performance. This is critical in the case of CDR, where all upstream and downstream #GHG #emissions must be quantified and included in the emission balance of a specific technology, with the total removal of GHG emissions being larger than the total emissions. #CDR LAUNCHPAD PROJECT - NORWAY The #Carbon #Dioxide #Removal #Launchpad members (all proud members and contributors to Mission Innovation!) commit to supporting at least one 1000 tonne #CO2 per year #CDR project by 2025 and to sharing data and information. Here is an example project from Norway. HAFSLUND OSLO CELSIO WASTE-TO-ENERGY PROJECT - Klemetsrud, Oslo - The project will capture the #CO2 emissions from Celsio’s #wastetoenergy plant. The waste treated at the plant consists of approximately 50% biological carbon.
