What a fun road trip to an amazing baseball game this past weekend. Resident Arlen H. from Minnesota Veterans Homes - Montevideo threw out the first pitch to local Minnesotan Jack Spanier, who plays shortstop at the U of M, during the Willmar Stingers vs. St. Cloud Rocks matchup. It was a wonderful coincidence that Arlen, a Navy Veteran, was chosen to throw out the first pitch on his 91st birthday! The game, which lasted nearly four hours, was capped off with a win by the Stingers and celebratory fireworks. Thank you to the Northwoods League for a night to remember and Tyler Degner, Assistant Chippewa County Veterans Service Officer, who helped to plan this event.
