Developing policy and business solutions to advance clean energy, climate and sustainability
When Microsoft announced our goal to become carbon negative by 2030, we also pledged to use our voice on public policy issues to help advance global decarbonization efforts. Since then, we have publicly outlined our policy priorities and advocated for them in the U.S. and around the world. We believe in transparency as a key component of any sustainability initiative – from the beginning of our journey, we have shared progress, learnings, innovations, methodology development, and thought leadership through our annual reports, white papers, blogs, and journal publications. As we continue to make progress toward our own sustainability goals, we also evaluate how our goals are aligned with the advocacy efforts of the trade associations we are members of. That is why today, we published a new report “Sustainability Policy Alignment: U.S. Trade Associations,” which provides an overview of positions on eleven key climate policies held by eight organizations that are active in U.S. federal climate policy.
