About us
Mimir is building a platform to compute data in space to empower humanity to seek answers to the biggest questions on and beyond earth. Modern satellites produce 100s Tb data each day, and with the falling cost to orbit we are now producing more data than can physically be sent back (the physical bandwidth limit of light). However only a fraction of this data is useful, thus calculating the results in space can reduce the amount of data having to be sent back cutting both cost and time to action for an end-user. Data requires compute which has been true from the early days of the home-computers (Spreadsheets/Documents Microprocessor = Apple & Microsoft) to more recently AI (Big data Parallel Compute = OpenAI & Nvidia), and the same will be true for Space. We are on the mission to build the compute platform for the New Space Age, that if successful will power a multi-trillion dollar industry!
