🌍 Celebrating World Teachers' Day! This year's theme, Valuing teacher voices: towards a new social contract for education, reminds us of the critical role teachers play in shaping our future. At MCC, we invest in strengthening education systems globally by reforming education policies and training teachers in active learning methods to ensure students thrive. We’ve invested in training over 10,000 instructors and impacting the lives of 490,000 students in many partner countries, including El Salvador, Namibia, Morocco, and Georgia. Let's continue to support and amplify teachers' voices!

Today, MCC CEO Alice Albright and Sierra Leone Minister of Finance Sheku Bangura signed a $480 million compact designed to help 4.6 million people gain access to affordable and reliable electricity. In a country where 70 percent of the population currently lacks access to electricity, the five-year grant will fund transformational energy sector investments. MCC and the Government of Sierra Leone first partnered in 2014 on a $40.54 million threshold program to support policy and institutional reform in the water and electricity sectors. This compact builds on that partnership and will set the stage for increased economic growth in the country. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/evFhFjga
