First joining Miles as an editorial assistant in 1999 and working his way through an array of other positions in the editorial and operations departments, David Burgess was named President & CEO in 2016. During his time with Miles, he has helped lead the company’s transformation from a small regional publishing firm into the global strategic marketing consultancy it is today. David is known throughout the industry for his trusted advice, thoughtful strategy and outlandish costumes. (Ric Flair and Ken are recent favorites.) When not in the office or on the road, David enjoys spending quality time with his wife and kids, fishing from his kayak and swinging for a better golf game. Congratulations on 25 years with Miles, David!

A book lover from an early age, Janet Kuliesh dreamed of being a writer. Working in content roles at Miles for the past 35 years (!), she’s had the opportunity to live that dream. Janet is the consummate wordsmith, bringing destinations to life with her captivating copy and passion for her craft. She loves to strategize with our clients, and our clients love her! Janet has worked on hundreds of travel guides, websites and marketing programs. In addition, she contributed to the company's growth with a 10-year stint on our new business development team. While the range of projects Janet has tackled is broad, what’s most impressive is her focus on the big picture and her amazing work ethic. “Good enough” isn’t good enough for Janet. Outside of work, Janet enjoys tending her garden, singing in an LGBTQ and allies choir, visiting beautiful parks with her husband, Tim, and spending time with their kids. A doting pet parent to a spunky, one-eyed chihuahua, she’s an animal lover who has fostered many cats and kittens. We’re grateful for Janet’s contributions and look forward to many more years of collaboration and inspiring work!

Today we’re celebrating George Mora and his incredible contributions to Miles and Odyssey Studios over the last five years! As a talented videographer, editor and animator, George consistently seeks ways to grow and enhance his craft, using new technologies, tools and techniques. For example, he earned his drone pilot's license to capture stunning footage for our clients. Outside the office, he enjoys exploring new destinations, teaching group-fitness classes and indulging his love for all kinds of geeky activities. Congrats George!

Hanna’s curiosity, paired with her genuine kindness is the best possible combination for an operations role. She's always quick to jump into problem-solving mode, and her openness to understand what's needed helps her find solutions that work across multiple stakeholders and scenarios. When she’s not hiking with her dogs, Hanna takes the most epic vacations. From rafting the Grand Canyon to biking around New Zealand to climbing to Mount Everest’s Basecamp, she’s always game for an adventure. Congrats on 10 years, Hanna!
