It’s been a whirlwind these last few weeks and I forgot to share about my great meeting with Chris Castro at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of State and Community Programs! This meeting was a great chance to learn more about programs in the Inflation Reduction Act to support local and state clean energy programs. From the Energy Future Grants to C-SITE and the Clean Energy Corps, there are so many ways to find support for clean, equitable energy projects. I’m grateful to be working with the Midwest Climate Collaborative, which is connecting orgs and governments to these funds and the resources and partners it takes to win and implement these funds.

I attended this training in Milwaukee and it was fabulous! Every community is looking to (re)develop something, a new 911 call center, a school, a shuttered coal plant … there are ways to finance these projects through the Inflation Reduction Act. This is NOT another competitive grant, but real money - and when stacked with even more funding opportunities it will make a significant difference for your community and your budget. If you can make it to Salt Lake, it will be worth it!
If you work in an economic development organization and you haven't received hands-on training about using the Inflation Reduction Act as an #economicdevelopment tool, please consider joining us at RMI's next IRA Bootcamp for EDOs in Salt Lake City on September 23-24. You will gain valuable insights and understanding to help you and your organization navigate the intricacies of the IRA in ways that you can quickly integrate with your BRE and other investor work.
