  • 🌟 Join the Miami-Dade County Office of Resilience in celebrating the 2-Year Anniversary of the #InflationReductionAct! 🌟 Two years ago today, the Inflation Reduction Act was passed, marking a historic moment in U.S. climate policy. This transformative legislation has been key in funding clean energy projects across the nation, including right here in Miami-Dade County! 🌍 Thanks to the IRA, we're making strides in transitioning to a clean and equitable energy economy while improving health outcomes: 🚍 Miami-Dade County Public Schools recently rolled out new electric school buses, doubling its electric fleet to 100, reducing harmful diesel emissions, and cutting fuel costs in the process. ☀️ Solar panels at the North Dade Regional Library are now powering up to 80% of the library's electricity needs, saving energy and reducing costs. 🚙 Solar-powered EV chargers are making it even easier to support a broader transition to zero-emission transportation options. 🔋 With more projects in the pipeline, including expanding solar to Miami International Airport and the recent launch of Shore Power at PortMiami, we're leading the way in clean energy adoption. The IRA is paving the way for a cleaner, greener, Miami-Dade. We’re excited to continue this journey and build a resilient future for all! 💚 #MiamiDade #ClimateAction #Resilience #CleanEnergy

  • Happy Friday! The Miami-Dade County Office of Resilience is proud to contribute to improving energy efficiency and sustainability in #OurCounty facilities. 🌿 Miami-Dade County is one of the top property owners in the region, and many County buildings have gone through Energy Performance Contracts to upgrade equipment and other systems. 🔌 Take a look behind-the-scenes as our Energy Services Coordinator, Yliana Serra, participated in the successful chiller testing at the Joseph Caleb Center, conducted as part of the Measurement and Verification process for the Miami-Dade County Internal Services Department's Energy Performance Contracting Project. #EnergyEfficiency #Sustainability #PerformanceContracting

  • HAPPENING TODAY: Join us at 6 PM at the Stephen P. Clark Government Center for an in-person PUBLIC WORKSHOP on the Miami-Dade County Urban Forestry Plan! Trees are critical for cooling neighborhoods, cleaning stormwater and air pollution, reducing floods, and storing carbon. 🌳 ✅ RSVP here: https://lnkd.in/e2KnhHi5

Join us for a Public Workshop on the Miami-Dade County Urban Forestry Plan! 🌳 Miami-Dade County’s Draft Urban Forestry Plan is a blueprint to reach the County’s ambitious goal of 30% urban tree canopy cover. In collaboration with Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, the Miami-Dade County Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources, Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces, and Miami-Dade County Office of Resilience, we have developed this draft plan to inform residents, businesses and stakeholders of the state of our urban forests and the challenges they face, so the County can outline steps to advance our goals for an equitable, robust and resilient urban forest system. Trees and our urban forest system are critical for cooling neighborhoods, cleaning stormwater and air pollution, reducing floods, and storing carbon. Our urban tree canopy is an essential part of building a more resilient community where residents in all our corners of #OurCounty can live, work, and thrive. Miami-Dade County cannot achieve these goals alone, which is why your input is so critical. 💬 Join us for an IN-PERSON public workshop THIS THURSDAY: 📅 Date: Thursday, August 1 🕕 Time: 6:00 - 7:30 PM 📍 Location: Stephen P. Clark Government Center, 18th Floor, Room 18-4, 111 NW 1st St, Miami, FL 33132 ✅ RSVP here: https://lnkd.in/e2KnhHi5 💬 You can also provide your comments through this online form: https://lnkd.in/eVijv9QK The public feedback period is open until August 16, 2024. Your voice matters in creating a robust, resilient urban forest system for all our neighborhoods. 🌿 Can't make it to Thursday's in-person workshop? Missed last week's virtual Zoom meeting? The full recording and presentation slides are now available under the Urban Forestry Plan section in our #linkinbio! 💻 To request materials in accessible format, sign language interpreters, and/or any accommodation to participate in any County-sponsored program or meeting, please contact Alain Donderiz at 305-372-6779 or [email protected] five days in advance to initiate your request.
