For the second year in a row, we were delighted to host the Governor’s Office of Small, Minority & Women Business Affairs for its Ready, Set, GROW! procurement workshop, connecting vendors with buyers from across Maryland. The event featured our President & COO Melonie Ducre Johnson alongside Special Secretary Maria Martinez to share the importance of supplier diversity and expanding opportunities for Maryland’s small businesses. During the program, Laisar Management Group Founder & CEO Florence Amate, a MGM National Harbor supplier and graduate of the MGM Resorts Supplier Diversity Program, was recognized with a Governor’s Citation for all that her company has achieved.

WBEC Greater DMV - 2023 Outstanding Women Business Advocate Award Recipient. Regional Director of Supplier Inclusion at MGM Resorts International.
What a Monumental week at MGM National Harbor!! We partnered with NBC4 Washington and Telemundo 44 Washington, D.C. to celebrate Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander Heritage month. We had an amazing luncheon catered by Executive Chef Andy Lau from Ginger and fun with the lion dancers! Then later that week Starlet Hunter, M.A., PMP , Jennifer Briggs and I had the opportunity to visit WB Waste Solutions, LLC , a local Black Owned waste management company mrf center. Michael Caldarella gave us a tour and showed us how items are separated and shipped out for their next life as new products. MGM National Harbor is proud to be a customer of WB Waste Solutions, LLC who shares the same goals of reducing the planet’s waste stream and increasing the amount of recyclable material recovered ♻️ Then Xin Peng , James S. , Deborah Robinson , and more from the Finance Team volunteered at Food & Friends. We prepared and packaged meals for their clients facing health challenges. #mgmnationalharbor #mgmresorts #mgmcares #focusedonwhatmatters

Earlier this week, we joined NBC4 Washington and M&T Bank in celebrating our local #AANHPI communities during a luncheon at Osteria Costa. A highlight of the event was an inspiring message from our Director of Customer Development Richard Chwang, pictured with our Director of Finance Xin Peng, who shared about his heritage and MGM National Harbor's efforts to honor and support our Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander employees.
