We are especially privileged to receive this national honor a few months after being named Health System of the Year by Press Ganey. 

The Methodist Dallas Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) competed in the international Babies With Books Read-A-Thon, a friendly competition that encourages reading to babies in the NICU as many times as possible. Doctors, nurses, and family members took turns reading to each of our 18 babies, an effort featured on CBS 11. The Babies With Books organization says that reading promotes infant brain development, strengthens family bonding, and decreases stress. Each family with a baby in the NICU received a stack of books donated by staff. We're all for little babies with big brains!

Anticipation is building as Methodist Celina continues taking shape in northern Collin County. Two large crosses were installed on the hospital’s exterior. Crosses have been a defining feature of every Methodist Health System hospital since our founding almost a century ago. Methodist Midlothian is doubly proud of its recent accolades. The hospital was included in Becker’s Hospital Review's list of the top 350 cleanest hospitals in the United States! The ranking is based on hospitals with a five-star cleanliness rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) patient survey (the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems). Director of Support Services Renee Trussell says that it's hard work keeping the hospital immaculate 24/7, and this recognition is a testament to the efforts of our environmental services team.

Methodist Richardson is helping raise student awareness of healthcare careers in Plano ISD. Carley Legan, DO, a primary care physician, offered insights about what it's like to care for patients. She also shared her own professional journey. Methodist Richardson is proud to support the school district's Health Sciences Academy, which trains future healthcare professionals.

Members of the Southlake Foundation Student Leadership Program gathered at Methodist Southlake to enjoy food and fellowship. Participants got to take home professional headshots. The program is designed to offer opportunities for students who want to build a socially conscious society through civic engagement. It also offers young leaders the chance to explore fields of interest. We can picture a bright future.

What's Open Mic Night at Methodist Midlothian? It's the event where leaders share hospital updates with the staff and in turn give employees the opportunity to ask questions and offer feedback. It's also the night where employees present their talents to their colleagues and win prizes.
