ICYMI, we’re #hiring!

This morning we kicked off the National Week of Action to Oppose the Criminalization of Homelessness. Housing advocates nationwide are responding to the highly controversial Johnson v. Grants Pass case currently being heard by the Supreme Court. From National Low Income Housing Coalition: "The court will decide whether communities that have failed to address the need for affordable housing and shelter can punish unhoused people for sleeping outside with tickets, fines, and arrests, even when there are no other safe or adequate housing or shelter options available." This case is the most significant we've seen in decades regarding the rights of people experiencing homelessness, and it will have broad ramifications nationwide including here in Ohio. Our friends at the Northeast Ohio Coalition for the Homeless hosted a press conference this morning to raise awareness of the case at FRANKLIN CIRCLE CHRISTIAN CHURCH - a longstanding community partner and home to our shelter for the past several seasons. Our mission statement is now to "change hearts, fill gaps, and save lives." Our logo, which you may have noticed on our recent merch launch, is a heart - because it truly is all about love. Our fonts and colors are refreshed and bold, as is our commitment to ending unsheltered homelessness in Cleveland. Stay tuned in the coming days for our brand new website! ❤❤❤❤❤
