Meet Dr. Kelly Anne Lopez! Dr. Lopez is a board-certified family medicine physician with a passion for education, culturally competent care, women’s health, procedures, behavioral health, weight management, and combat sports medicine. She serves as a ringside physician for professional and amateur boxing, mixed martial arts, and wrestling through the Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission. Dr. Lopez welcomes all patients and has a special interest in women’s health and pregnancy planning/contraception, long term obesity management, hypertension, complicated diabetes, management of common arthritic conditions plaguing our aging population, and skin disorders in patients of diverse backgrounds. Fluent in English and Spanish and proficient in French, Dr. Lopez is committed to diverse and compassionate care.
Prior to joining the Merakey Total Health team, Dr. Lopez served as core faculty for the Jefferson Northeast Family Medicine and combined Family and Emergency Medicine programs. She also served as Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University. She earned her MD from Jefferson Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University, where she was a member of the HAH medical honor society and served on the national board for the Latino Medical Student Association. Dr. Lopez completed her residency training at Thomas Jefferson University’s Family and Community Medicine residency program and was a two-time recipient of the Attending of the Year award for her role in resident education. Additionally, she was a top-ten finalist for the 2021 National Women in White Coats Heroes Award.
