The Mental Health Association in New Jersey’s Community Education team held its 4th Annual BIPOC Messages of Hope and Celebration on Saturday, July 20th at Monte Irvin Park in Orange NJ. MHANJ provided mental health resources and information to the more than 600 people who attended. The festival featured grammy award winning musicians, local leaders, artisan vendors, food trucks, and the Orange Health Department who offered free COVID test and vaccines. In addition to the world-class talent, Lynette Sheard- Director of the NJ Mental Health Players and community education coordinator was the host and MC of the event. Also, in attendance and serving as co-host was Eyesha Marable, Wayne Winborne and Gregory Burrus.

Coming up this week: The NJ Mental Health Players are a featured presenter at the Ingerman Group Executive Conference on July 23-24th at Ceasars in Atlantic City. Their presentation is entitled “Where Do I Stand in a multi-generational workplace? A conversation worth having on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Liberation.” Ingerman is a billion-dollar Mid-Atlantic based multifamily developer, contractor and property manager and has developed over 100 supportive communities.

United By Wellness (UBW), MHANJ's virtual wellness center turned three this month! UBW is a virtual Peer Support Service that is peer operated and is staffed by an amazing number of facilitators from across MHANJ. CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE WHO WORKS TO MAKE UBW A SUCCESS! In three years it has grown to provide over 7,800 groups with a membership of close to 3000. Today UBW provides over 80 groups per week spread over 7 days.
